India AI Film Festival Marks Milestone in AI-Driven Filmmaking at Iconic Qutub Minar

Delhi’s first India AI Film Festival (IAFF) successfully concluded yesterday at the historic Qutub Minar, showcasing groundbreaking AI-generated short films and fostering discussions on the future of storytelling.

Organized by Invideo in collaboration with Nvidia, during the India AI Impact Summit, the event featured screenings of five to six selected indie AI short films from global submissions, panel discussions on AI’s role in creative processes, a fireside chat, and an awards ceremony with prizes worth $12,000, emphasizing AI as a tool to enhance human creativity rather than replace it.

The engaging panel saw insightful discussions among industry leaders such as  Pradeep Gupta, VP for Solutions Architecture & Customer Engineering – Nvidia, Vikram Malhotra, Founder & CEO, Abundantia Entertainment, Mike J Mitch. Filmmaker and Co-founder, PhantomX, Georg Ramme, MD – Promptr Studios, Justin Hackney, CEO-Wonder Studios, and Vishal Balsara, Filmmaker and Creative Director, Invideo. The event was also hosted by Chandan Perla and Hardeep Gambhir of LocalHost. 

Actor Taha Shah of Heeramandi fame, and acclaimed director Vignesh Shivan graced the occasion, adding star power and insights from traditional cinema’s intersection with AI innovation.

Award Winners Honored

The festival celebrated top talents with the following winners:

  • Best Overall Film: Portrait No. 72 by Darryll Rapacon – $7,700
  • Best Storytelling Award: Anhad by Bharat – $3,300
  • Best Editing: Unmasked by M S N Karthik – $2,200

These awards highlight innovative AI applications in narrative, editing, and overall execution.

Further, during the festival, Abundantia Entertainment and InVideo unveiled a ₹100 crore AI-driven film studio, aiON, set to produce five full-length commercial features over three years, blending Abundantia’s creative expertise with InVideo’s generative video technology.

Overall, this landmark event positions India as a global leader in AI filmmaking, bridging technology and talent for scalable, innovative content creation.
