Uber Eats launches insurance program for delivery partners in India

Uber Eats, the world’s largest food delivery network, today announced a comprehensive insurance programme for delivery partners in India. Launched in partnership with Tata AIG, one of the leading private sector general insurance companies in India, this insurance program aims to make delivering with Uber Eats a rewarding experience for delivery partners across the country.

This unique insurance program insures Uber Eats delivery partners for up to INR 5 lacs against accidental death and permanent disability, when they are on the road providing delivery services through the Uber Eats App. The policy also provides cover of INR 2 lacs against medical hospitalisation expenses and an outpatient cover of INR 50000. Delivery partners are covered right from their first order on the Uber Eats App. This unique insurance cover will be offered free of cost to delivery partners, giving them peace of mind, while enjoying the flexibility of independent work as Uber Eats delivery partners.

The insurance cover under this program is live September 1, 2018 onwards across all Uber Eats cities in India.
